Recently, Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio approved the construction of a Php 40-million two-storey building in Davao housing different agencies to speed up the processing of documents, so as with release of medical assistance, as sources say.
This initiative is funded by PCSO in the hope of accelerating the process of seeking assistance from the government.
In an article published by Sunstar, this “One-Stop facilty” is seen to complement the Lingap Center which is also located near Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) which aims to ease the burden of the public in need of assistance from government agencies.
“It would be better to speed up the transactions through the one-stop shop in getting business permit. We don’t have to go from one office to another just to get the assistance that we needed,” said Afriqueta Kortekaas, 59, a Davao resident.
This move by the Davao leaders will surely help in addressing pain points of long queues and conservation of important resources including time, money and transportation costs. Hoping this facility will serve as an “efficiency hub” for Dabawenyos.
The facility will house the offices such as the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Department of Social Welfare and Development, the City Social Service and Development Office (CSSDO) and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.
In addition, CSSDO chief Maria Luisa Bermudo also said that the Mayor wants all health-related agencies to be in one area for the public to have ease in processing documents.
Smart move in Davao! Hopefully, there will be other provinces in the Philippines to offer the same kind of service.
